GoPuff is a $5.45B consumer goods and instant-delivery company operating 650+ micro-fulfillment centers across more than 1,000 cities, delivering millions of weekly orders in under 30 minutes. As Senior Product Designer, I led design across two major operational platforms—the internal Command Center and the GoPuff Driver app.
Command Center Optimization
The Command Center is the operational hub connecting GoPuff's micro-fulfillment centers, supporting 2M+ weekly orders and tens of thousands of warehouse associates, super admins, and delivery partners. I led the redesign of this hub, consolidating fragmented legacy systems into a single, scalable, human-centered interface used by 15,000+ associates and improving fulfillment efficiency across the network.
A central piece of the work was a new warehouse configuration system that replaced multiple outdated tools and eliminated $2M in annual licensing costs. I integrated the workflows admins relied on most—cold-room scheduling, employee sign-in/out, and emergency overrides—into one intuitive surface, and partnered with engineering to simplify back-end modularity so the cost savings landed alongside real operational clarity.
I also redesigned the Order Management Dashboard, giving admins live visibility into every order's stage, driver status, and cancellation trends across regions. Real-time data made daily monitoring far more accurate: 25,181 orders created (aligned with forecasts), cancellations down to 815 (from 838 the previous week), 3,541 orders over 50 minutes, and 1,711 over 60 minutes—each surfaced in time for proactive interventions. Median delivery time settled at a p50 of 31.38 minutes and p70 of 40.05 minutes, raising the bar across the network.
Proactive Dispatch Packing
Halfway through my tenure I transitioned to GoPuff's Delivery Tech team to redesign the GoPuff Driver app—the tool delivery partners use to manage trips, orders, and payments across regions. The headline feature was Proactive Dispatch Packing, an innovation that lets orders be assigned to drivers while items are still being packed, reducing idle time and pickup congestion.
I defined the end-to-end experience, from early driver interviews and education campaigns through the interface flows that thousands of drivers used in production. Working closely with engineering on dispatch logic, I kept the design system consistent and the integration with fulfillment and pricing systems seamless.
The operational impact landed within two weeks of rollout: $1.5M in annualized savings confirmed by Delivery Tech leadership, p90 delivery times improved by 1.1 minutes (an additional ~$1M in yearly savings), driver cancellations down 33%, pickup traffic at the top 300 sites down 5.8%, and reliance on third-party couriers reduced by 11%—all reinforcing GoPuff's internal logistics efficiency.
